The name of this profession comes from the Greek words "kosmetes", which means a toilet servant, but also "kosmetikos" - beautifying. What does a cosmetologist do nowadays? WHAT DOES A COSMETOLOGIST DO?

Cosmetology is a fairly extensive and multifunctional field of knowledge in the field of general chemical, medical, but also biological subjects. It mainly concerns issues in dermatology and aesthetic medicine, because it is closely related to them. This field requires knowledge of basic and clinical medical sciences, including anatomy, histology, cell physiology, general and cosmetic chemistry, biochemistry, dermatology, allergology and endocrinology. The cosmetologist mainly deals with:

Prevention of skin defects;
Issues related to skin beautification;
Knowledge of the composition of cosmetic preparations and their impact on individual skin types;
Prophylaxis that allows you to delay the external signs of the skin aging process;
Correcting defects in appearance;
Knowledge of skin changes that adversely affect the overall appearance;
The effect of UV radiation on the skin.
